“A Game of Honor”
CBSSports.com will premiere the documentary “A Game of Honor” on Wednesday 21 December on SHOWTIME, providing unprecedented access at the U.S. Military Academy and the U.S. Naval Academy and the respective football programs at West Point and Annapolis. We have the trailer here.

Hacker? What Hacker? The Center for Cyber Securities Studies
Bret Hartman, CTO at RSA, delivered an informative presentation on Cyber Security during the 29 September–1 October President’s Circle Weekend at the Academy, addressing the nature of the threat, the nation’s vulnerability and the necessity for preparedness. The Good Ship Sponsor-Ship

Army-Navy All Year Long
There’s more than one Army-Navy Game to cheer. NAAA has a page where you can check the schedule and keep track of the results of all Army vs. Navy skirmishes through the year, from baseball to wrestling and everything in between.

Their Final Tour
The Naval Academy Cemetery and Columbarium are home to many famous alumni on what was formerly known as Strawberry Hill. This Halloween, if you want to learn how many Medal of Honor recipients, Superintendents and famed alumni, or would just like to do a little research on friends and family or the history of the site, it can be found here.

Samantha Cameron recently hosted UK and American Armed Forces at a reception at 10 Downing Street in preparation for the Royal Albert Hall Cup boxing match. See how the midshipmen did in the ring.

Navy Commissions USS SPRUANCE (DDG 111)
On 1 October, the Navy commissioned the newest Arleigh Burke class guided-missile destroyer, USS SPRUANCE (ADM Raymond A. Spruance 1907, USN (Ret.)), during a ceremony in Key West. Vice Chief of Naval Operations ADM Mark E. Ferguson III ’78, USN, gave the principal address.

Captain Frank Gamboa ’58, USN (Ret.), the first Mexican-American naval surface warfare officer to command a major U.S. Navy warship, describes his long and difficult journey to the Naval Academy. His memoir, ¡El Capitán! The Making of an American Naval Officer, is available at Lucky Bag of Books.

Inspired by the book “Undaunted Courage” by Stephen Ambrose, Bill Griffin ’60 set out to follow the same path that Lewis and Clark forged 205 years earlier to the day. He fared better than they did in the food department, but the terrain remains the same.

The O’Brien Quarterback Award voting is in full swing and Navy’s QB Kriss Proctor has only garnered 5% of the vote (last look showed Boise State’s Kellen Moore in first place). We cannot let this stand, so vote early and vote often. GO NAVY!

Vote for John Dowd For The Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award
Navy senior offensive guard John Dowd was named a finalist for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award. Dowd is a three-year letterwinner and two-year starter at offensive guard for the Midshipmen and carries a 3.91 GPA in Mechanical Engineering. He is also a two-time Academic All-American selection. Vote on the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award website at http://www.seniorclassaward.com through December 5.
