The Army-Navy Game is not that far away. Alumni rarely get the chance to have spirit spots play during the game but this time we want to give you the chance to support your team from afar. Dan Akerson '70 at the Wheel of GM
The prior CEO was only there for nine months. The Federal Government still owns 61 percent of it. The company recently filed for a risky IPO. General Motors has seen better days. As of 1 September though, Dan Akerson '70 became the new CEO, offering "Fresh blood and a different perspective."

U.S. News Announces 2011 Rankings
The Academy has been ranked at the top by the 2011 edition of "America's Best Colleges." We are ranked fifth for "Best Undergraduate Engineering," fifth for "Best Aerospace/Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering," fifth for "Best Electrical/Electronic/Communications" and first in the "High School Counselors' Picks." Some, however, don't like this system.

CAPT Mary Jackson '88 First Female to Command Norfolk
Naval Station Norfolk just held a historic Change of Command ceremony as CAPT Jackson took command of the world's largest naval installation from CAPT Kelly Jackson, becoming the first female to do so.

Men's Glee Club Concert with Notre Dame
Two of the nation's premier men's choral groups will perform in concert together at St. Paul the Apostle in New York City the night before the Navy-Notre Dame game, Friday 22 October. Get your tickets now.

USS Peleliu Aids Pakistan
Marine helicopters have been carrying relief supplies to Pakistan after the country suffered catastrophic floods from monsoons. CAPT Mark Cedrun '84, USN, is CO of the Peleliu and VADM Mark Fox '78 is Commander, 5th Fleet.

Navy Sprint Football in Allegiance Bowl
On 2 October in Saratoga Springs, Navy plays Penn in the Allegiance Bowl. Sprint football is Division I, varsity-level college tackle football where players may not weigh more than 172 pounds two days prior to kick off. Other members of the CSFL include West Point, Cornell, Princeton, and more. See their full schedule here.

The Strange Return of a Father's Uniform
The uniform of a Marine, who served for 22 years as intel in Marine Night Fighter Squadron 534, miraculously returned out of the blue to his son, also a Marine, in Syracuse, NY. The grandson is class of '11 and also contemplating the Corps. The uniform made a long journey home.
